Marisela Esparza, Director of Immigrant Rights and Community Empowerment

Marisela was the former  SFILEN Program Manager since 2014 and also coordinated the San Francisco Rapid Response Network. In May 2018, Marisela transitioned to the role of Director of Immigrant Rights and Community Empowerment at Dolores Street Community Services.  In her new position, Marisela will be overseeing the SFILEN and RRN networks and supporting the coordinating staff. Her passion for immigrant rights stems from childhood when her mother was deported as a result of attorney misrepresentation.  Marisela studied International Studies at the University of San Francisco and has worked on immigrant rights campaigns at the local, state, and national level.

Abigail Salazar, Rapid Response Network Coordinator

Abigail was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA to Mexican immigrant parents.  Previously, she worked as the program coordinator of the LGBT center at UC Santa Barbara, and is now joining the San Francisco Rapid Response Team. Having her mother deported at a young age influenced her commitment to serving immigrant communities. Abigail will also be starting grad school at the University of San Francisco in the Migration Studies Program this upcoming Fall.
